Charleston: Labor Day Weekend

Today I'm back on the blogging train after Kev and I spent a lovely three day weekend in Charleston.
We left early Saturday morning and made it to Charleston around lunch time.  Our first stop was Poogan's Porch.  I had heard that Poogan's was a must eat spot in the city so I knew we couldn't miss out.  For brunch there was a 45 minute wait but the hostess took our phone number and told us we could hit the shops on King st and we would receive a text when our table was ready.

Shopping on King St. is amazing!  I swear the nicest H&M and Forever 21 I have ever been in.
After 45 minutes we were back at the restaurant and ready for brunch.

I got the cinnamon french toast (pictured below) and Kev got the chicken and waffles.  Both were so good!

Kev even found a Brett Favre autographed menu.  He was in heaven.

After lunch we wandered around downtown checking out shops and stopping by the waterfront park for some selfies.

After checking into our hotel we headed to Charleston staple Wet Willies for a snack before our ghost tour.

We purchased a ghost tour through groupon and got an awesome deal.  Our tour group consisted of us and 4 other couples and our tour guide was very knowledgeable.  He was born and raised in Charleston and had been a tour guide for the past 19 years.  The walk was full of history and ghost stories.  Kev and I loved it.

After the tour we had a late dinner at Tommy Condons Irish Pub.  The restaurant had a nice patio and we enjoyed catching up on some football.  I got the fish and chips and Kev got the fired green tomato blt.

Sunday morning we got up early and headed to Folly Beach.

After a few hours we were ready for lunch and we opted for Taco Boy.

Post lunch we went to the beach shops and took a walk on the pier.

That night we headed back into the city for dinner.  We decided on Toast a spot famous for it's southern cooking.  We go the sweet tea fried chicken and the shrimp scampi. Both were hits.

After dinner there was more walking...our attempt at making room for dessert.

Our final stop was Belgian Gelato.  A perfect way to end our last night of a wonder vacation.

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

  1. Looks like fun! Charleston and Savannah are easily my two fav Southern cities. They're both just so beautiful, and I mean... Wet Willies. Call-a-cab will be the death of me!
