5 on Friday

So today is a special Friday because I'm off work and enjoying some time with my family.  I would just like to start this post off by wishing all of you a wonderful Easter Weekend!

{One}  Last weekend was my wedding shower and we had the best time!  Kev and I are so thankful for all our friends and family who took part in our special day.  In case you missed out on my recap post you can check it out here.

{Two}  I was watching the news last night and saw a story that would make any Harry Potter fan jump for joy.  Apparently it is now possible for you to attend Hogwarts online.  First you must apply and be accepted, then you get to choose your house and after that you register for courses.  The program is completely free but you will have to do actual work.  The site is ran by group of die hard fans and as of this morning there were nearly 500,000 student attending Hogwarts.  Muggles rejoice!

{Three}  This weekend Kev and I will be heading to one of my favorite cities, Charlotte.  We love taking day trips there to walk around downtown and try out new restaurants.  Where should we eat this weekend?  Any suggestions?

{Four}  It probably comes as no surprise to you guys that I have the travel bug!  I find so much joy in going to different places and having new adventures.  I've been looking at some information on St. Martin in preparation of our honeymoon and I'm getting so excited!  When I found this ecard on Pinterest I could help but share it with all you travel enthusiast.

{Five}  Today I'm going to leave you with a little gem off  Ke$ha's first album to get your weekend started off  right :-)

Wedding Shower

This past Saturday my mom and future mother-in-law threw Kev and I a wedding shower.  About thirty of our friends and family were able to attend and celebrate with us.  We were beyond spoiled on our special day.  We are so blessed to have so many amazing people who care about us.  I have to say a big thank you to everyone who came and played a part in making our day so wonderful!

A Blowout and a Bridal Shower

Good Morning!
I'm hoping everyone had a great weekend!

If you read my post on Friday you saw that this Saturday was my bridal shower.  Origionally I was planning on recaping the shower today but I haven't got all the pictures yet so you can expect a post on Wednesday.  In related shower news I had my first blowout Saturday morning in perpartion.  After reading how so many other bloggers loved blowouts I figured I had to try it. Upon entering the salon I wasn't really sure what to expect.   I knew I wanted some loose curls but I was worried that my thick hair would cause a problem.  I swear I have the thickest hair in the world.  It is a straight as a stick and its almost impossible to get it to hold a curl but I had my fingers crossed.  My stylest B was absolutly amazing.  After the shampoo he added volume to the top of my hair and used the brush to add lose curls. Sadly with my hair being thick the curls started to loose shape but B offered to touch it up with the curling iron.  I was so happy with the finished product that I plan to use him on my wedding day.  Can't wait to share the shower with you all!

5 on Friday

It's Friday!!!
Once again I'm linking up with some of my favorite ladies for 5 on Friday!

{One}  Tomorrow is my big bridal shower and I cannot be more excited!  The shower is being hosted by my mom and my future mother-in-law.  I can't wait to be surrounded by all my friends and family.   Kev and I are lucky to have so many people that care about us.

{Two}  In perpartion for tomorrow I am going to have my first blow out experience.  I've been wanting to try a dry bar for a while now so my shower seemed like the perfect occasion!  Now my only decision is whether I want beachy waves or southern curls.

{Three}Easter is almost here here and I'm planning on making some peep cupcakes!  Seriously how cute are these?!

{Four}  In case you missed it yesterday I linked up with Erin form Two Thirds Hazel and Sarah from Venus Trapped in Mars to talk about 32 Things that Make Me Happy.  It was such a fun post to write.  Nothing like writing a post about what makes you happy to make you happy!

{Five}  It wouldn't be Friday without some throwback jams so I'll leave you with this jam!  A little vintage JT for you!

Weekend Recap

Hello lovelies!
I hope everyone had a great weekend!
Here in NC the weather was perfect!

Kev had a great start to the weekend when he caught this monster striper out of our local lake.  I honestly didn't even know that there were any fish that big there.

We enjoyed a little Mexican food at one of my favorite Southwest Cantinas, Barbaritos.

Friday night Kev and I went bowling with a group of friends.  Our friend Brian works for a German based company and  was hosting a couple of girls from their parent company in Europe.  I had so much fun talking to both the ladies.  I love meeting people for other countries.

Saturday Kev and I went down to the lake and had a lovely walk.  After a little Dunkin Doughnuts visit we spent the evening shopping.  It was so nice to have a relaxing day.

Sunday was spent cleaning through my room and getting ready for my big move!  I can't believe the amount of clothes I had stuffed in my closet.  Lets just say I have several loads to take to Goodwill.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

5 on Friday

Happy Friday!!!
Once again I'm linking up with a lovely group of ladies for 5 on Friday!

{One}  I had my first chicken and waffle experience this Wednesday and I think it is safe to say I am now obsessed.  Who would have thought these two items would go so well together.  Check back next week for a post on NC's best chicken and waffle restaurant.

{Two}  I know I probably talk about Mindy Kaling way too much on my blog but I just couldn't resist after Tuesday's mid season premiere.   I am over the moon excited for her and Danny's new relationship!!!!  I can't wait to see where the writers go with this one.

{Three}  After our chicken and waffle dinner on Wednesday Kev and I came across the cutest area that had a great view of downtown Greensboro.  We ended up taking some pictures and I'm planning on attempting my first style post next week!

{Four}  By now you've probably heard the sad news about Chelsea  leaving E!  I'm not going to lie, I'm extremely sad about it!  I love watching her show every night.  With Chelsea on my mind I decided to order one of her books off on Amazon.  I really have high hopes for this one.  I expect non-stop laughter while reading!

{Five}  Yesterday I wrote a post about being present and enjoying every moment.  In case you missed that post you can check it out here.  One step I've made towards my goal was enjoying a beautiful evening on the patio.  I'm loving this warm weather!!
