Saying a Special Thank You

It's hard to believe that it has already been two months since I said, "I do", to the man of my dreams.
My big day took months of preparation from a lot of people.  Some of my biggest helpers were my four beautiful bridesmaids.

Whether it was shopping for dresses, attending my shower or listening to me vent about the inevitable pre-wedding stress these four ladies were right there with me.  All four went above and beyond their call of duty and made my wedding day absolutely perfect.

While I had given each bridesmaid a gift before the wedding I decided that an additional thank you was needed.  Allow me to introduce Treat!!  Treat is a new company by Shutterfly where you can create your own custom greeting cards.

You start by choosing a template and then you are free to make any changes.  I love that with Treat you can insert the recipients name, add personal pictures and customize the message to your own.

I decided to choose a different template for each of my bridesmaids and had so much fun inserting some of our favorite wedding pictures.

Fast forward a few days later and I has four perfect cards to give to my favorite ladies.

While I chose to have the cards sent to me for hand delivery Treat also offers the option to send the card directly to the recipient.

If your on the market for some truly unique cards check out Treat.

Thank you Treat for the amazing cards!

Oh, Hey Friday!

This is my first time to the Oh Hey Friday linkup and I am extremely excited to join the party.  Any thing that involves the word Friday and allows me to talk about my favorite things is awesome in my book!

{One} Charlotte:  I spent last weekend in Charlotte with my bestie Sara.  Everytime I visit the city I am reminded how much I love it.  You can read about my visit to the QC here.

{Two} Cooking Healthy:  This week began my push to cook healthy.  I'm saying goodbye to frozen foods and opting for fresh vegetables.

{Three} NYX Lip Butter:  NYX is one makeup brand that I was not too familiar with until recently.  On a trip to Ulta last week I picked up one of their Cherry Cheesecake Lip Butters and I am in love.  It gives the perfect hint of color and smells so yummy.

{Four}  Witches of  East End: If you read my weekend recap you know that I have been beige watching The Witches of East End on Netflix.  Seriously it is so good.  Go watch it now!

{Five}  Dierks Bentley:  Drunk on a Plane:  Not gonna lie this song has been on repeat for the last month!

Charlotte Weekend Recap

Good Morning Lovelies!
I'm fresh off an action packed weekend.  When Kev got the opportunity to attend a skim board competition in the Outer Banks this past weekend I decided to head to Charlotte to visit one of my favorite people in the world, Sara.  Sara, who you may remember as my maid of honor from my wedding posts, recently moved to Charlotte, aka one of my favorite cities ever!
Friday after work I made the hour and twenty minute drive down I-85.   I am so in love with Sara's place because you can honestly do everything you need without a car.  In a short walk or bike ride she can be in uptown in a matter of minutes.  On the other side she has an awesome neighborhood called Southend which is loaded with shops and restaurants.  After some catching up we decided to hit up Food Truck Friday in the Southend neighborhood.
The highlight of my food truck experience was Southern Cake Queen's strawberry shortcake!  It would be pictured but I couldn't hold back on devouring it.
After that we headed back into Uptown to one of my favorite spots, The Epicenter.  The Epicenter is the mecca of entertainment in uptown Charlotte.  We decided to relax at The Bubble Lounge.  The place seriously reminded me of the Cosmopolitan in Vegas.  We snagged a table on the balcony patio and had a perfect view of the skyline.

Saturday we decided to get our bike on so we got ready and rode to Vapiano in uptown for lunch.  If you've been around my blog before you know I never go to Charlotte without visiting here. Best chicken parm ever!!
Next we biked over to the cutest uptown Starbucks where we and a couple hours of coffee infused conversations.
With the weather looking a little gloomy we biked back over to the Epicenter to see a movie at SMG Cinemas.  Sara had several Groupons so we got in for only $5.  SMG is the coolest theatre I have ever seen.  The seats are like recliners and they have a full service restaurant and bar.  If you want to order any food you press a button and the waitress will take your order.  Amazing right!  You even have a built in tv tray :-)
After an action packed day we rode our bikes back to the house and had a Netflix binge marathon on Witches of the East End.  Oh my goodness I had never heard of this show but it is so addictive!  We only broke our marathon to baked cookies with we the covered with chocolate fudge brownie ice cream!
Sunday brought more dreary weather so we broke out the car.  We headed to brunch at Tyber Creek Pub.  Best omelets ever!
After one more Starbucks run it was time for me to head back to Greensboro.
A big thank you to Sara for being an amazing host!

Dear Monday....

The only thing harder than getting going on a Monday is getting going on a Monday after a three day weekend.  I'm hoping each and every one of you had a wonderful 4th of July.  My weekend started off right with ladies night at The Melting Pot with Brittany and Carrie.  If you've never been you must try it out.  Chocolate Fondue...enough said!  Friday was spent on the lake with Kev and ended with a cookout. Saturday called for pool time and an evening spent with friends.  Finally Sunday was for visiting my parents and Keeping Up With the Kardashians.

Yeah it was hard to get going this morning!

Eshakti: The Perfect Fit

When a member of eShakti's marketing team contacted me about doing a post on one of their items I was extremely excited.  I had heard a lot of buzz among bloggers about the company and I have been wanting to check them out for myself.  The biggest draw to eShakti , other than their gorgeous clothes, is the buyer's option to customize their items.

I had the hardest time selecting which item I wanted to review because they had so many fabulous options.  I finally decided on this lovely two piece set and clicked add to order.  What happen next blew my mind!  Instead of asking for a standard size Eshakti asked for my exact measurements so that they could make the outfit fit perfectly.  How amazing is that ladies?!  Other outfit features you can customize include hem length, sleeve type and the addition of pockets.

I'm ready to say goodbye to the days of less than perfect fitting clothes and you can too using the discount code they are providing to all my wonderful readers!  From now until July 27th you can save 10% on your purchase using the code: sccses

Outfit Details: Dress: eShakti, Necklace: NY&C, Clutch: Michael Kors, Shoes: Target

For the Red, White and Blue

Today I'm linking up with Elise, Maeg and Jana for the first creative closet linkup!

Normally I would go for a touch of red and blue on the 4th but this year Kev and I decided to have an American Flag themed gathering.  When there is a costume party involved all bets are off when it comes to my outfit.   Here's what I pulled out of my hat.
Top:  Old Navy- Sold Out, Shorts: Walmart-available in store, Sunglasses: Steve Madden  from Belks, Shoes: Target
